With a grant for a progran called "Artistic Intervention," his Readers Theatre class adopted Mrs. Franklin's 4th grade class and did a presentation from literature every other week. After the presentation, college students would lead discussions of feelings & issues in the literature and relate them to the lives of the children and then let the children do the performance. |

Wayne with cast of Robert Lewis Stevenson's The Beach of Falesá. Directing a play provides a teacher with a wonderful teaching environment. Students learn about the work of literature by making critical decisions regarding character and action and then living those decisions before an audience. |
